Five Year Mark
The future sometimes scares me. I'm a more go with the flow type of person. I don't like to make plans for the future unless I'm certain it's what I want. Graduating Loyalist College for the Child and Youth Worker program is something that I am CERTAIN that I want.
In five years I'd like to be able to proudly say that I graduated the Child and Youth Worker program on time and have a full time job as a Child and Youth Worker. I'm not exactly sure if I want to work with at risk youth or younger ages from 3-7. I think i'm leaning more towards working with younger ages because no matter what I think they are the cutest thing! I have always said i'd like to keep my distance from group homes because I don't think i'd like it but I would still like to take every oppurtunity that comes my way and who knows maybe i'd love working in a group home setting. I'll never know until I try! If I could have two jobs, one job working with ages 3-7 and the other job would be working with at risk youth from 13-18 i'd like to do that too. Also during my experiences here at Loyalist College i'd like to have the oppurtunity to go on one of my longer placements to somewhere in a different country where they are more in need of assistance such as Haiti or Africa! I think it'd be a great experience to put on my resume and if a job opportunity ever came up after graduating in a different country i'd like to be able to say I have that experience so I could gladly take it!
In five years I don't want to have a child just yet i'd like to have a child around my late 20's so that way I can enjoy my career and my life while I still have time. I'd like to be able to say i'm renting a house out on the Reserve with the same boyfriend that I am dating and our two dogs!
In five years I want to be graduated, successful and happy.
